How To Make Chapati Roti In Easiest Way
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- Water (as needed)
- Pinch of salt (optional)
- Cooking oil or ghee (for cooking)
Steps:
Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, add the whole wheat flour. If desired, add a pinch of salt for flavour
. - Gradually add water and start kneading. The goal is to create a soft, non-sticky dough. Add water in small amounts until the dough comes together.
- In a mixing bowl, add the whole wheat flour. If desired, add a pinch of salt for flavour
Divide and Shape:
- Divide the dough into small portions, roughly the size of golf balls.
Rolling:
- Take one portion of the dough and flatten it slightly with your hands.
- Roll it out on a flat surface using a rolling pin. You don't need to roll it too thin.
Cooking:
- Heat a non-stick pan or tawa on medium-high heat.
- Place the rolled chapati on the hot pan. Cook for about 20-30 seconds until you see bubbles forming on the surface.
Flipping:
- Flip the chapati using a spatula. It should have some light brown spots on the cooked side.
Cooking the Other Side:
- Cook the other side for another 20-30 seconds.
Puffing:
- Using a clean kitchen towel or a folded paper towel, gently press the chapati on the pan. This helps the chapati puff up.
Cook Until Done:
- Continue cooking and pressing until both sides are cooked and have light golden brown spots.
Serve:
- Remove the chapati from the pan and brush it with a little oil or ghee if desired.
- Serve hot with your favourite curry, vegetables, or condiments.
